A good contest station needs Yagis in fixed directions so that a multiplier can be worked right away. I bought two GXP 11-3 to be put on a 36m tower, just below GXP 17-4. One was to be put at 17m fixed to SE (Caribbeans and South America) and another one at 25m fixed to NW (Japan and far east).
First I tried to tram one antenna alone. Hoisting was by a trailer motor equipped with a remote switch. The switch works even from the tower top, convenient when fine positioning.

Side rope to a tree 45m away was attached by a Nite-Ize CamJam.

Ropes were 3mm Dacron with a 200kg breaking point. Should be good enough for a 30kg antenna.
I managed to crank the first antenna up to 25m. The side rope was getting too tight for manual tensioning and I had to add a hand crank using Mastrant duplex rope clips.

Also getting the antenna pulled into the tower at the feed point was a struggle.

Then in rain, it seemed if the antenna was 180 degrees in the wrong direction so I took it down, which took longer than hoisting. Once I did it, it turned out that the antenna was in the right direction. All my work was for nothing.
In a few days I brought my wife who turned to really useful manning ropes and telling when to pull. In 3 hours we had the two antennas up.

SWR was < 1.5:1 on 20m and 28-29, but 2:1 at 21.0. Same with both antennas and also with 17-4. The driven element for 21 needs to be extended by 3 cm! Will try to do it by temporarily rotating the boom down.
