Austria is 80% mountainous. Wherever you are in the mountains, they are zillions of ski lifts or gondolas. Many of them are open in summer for the tourists.
Gondolas go up from downtown Innsbruck way up. A restaurant there is perfect for ham radio. One extra attraction is personnel; most of them are from the Balkans and they know what ham radio is.

In Stubai area, south of Innsbruck, hotel stays include free lift/gondola rides (including the days of arrival and departure) health clubs and even tobogan rides. Wonderful traits with lots of huts with food and drinks.
One time I to a gondola ride to from St Anton (20km to Italy, Switzerland and Germany) to wonderful trails. On the way, I saw a platform overlooking a vertical cliff, a location perfect for ham radio.
The propagation was wonderful, but I missed the gondola and had to walk 900 m down.
One of the best sites in Austria is picturesque Salzburg. Their cathedral looks like extension of a palace, because it is. At one time it was residence of a prince-bishop who needed lots of space for his semi-official wife and 15 children. Cliffs over the art museum with a view towards the castle fit ham radio just fine.
When I tried my luck, a German ham radio came, and we had a nice conversation.
